One of the biggest issues that I have with most high end jewelry brands is that they put too much focus on the gemstone. They'll usually just set the stone in a small setting and throw it on a chain and sell it. At first I liked it, I mean who wouldn't want a giant emerald or diamond hanging from their neck, but then I slowly started to get tired of it. It just felt too repetitive.
That's when I had the idea about this ring. I knew I wanted to create a ring that incorporated emeralds yet didn't make the entire focus be the gemstone. I struggled for about a week on what I wanted to do, and then it hit me. I could use the emeralds as eyes and create a sort of a half face signet style ring. This way the design wasn't just focused on the emerald but instead using the emerald to enhance it.
It took us from the beginning of August to the middle of October to have the rings in hand.
